Lagos – Gen. Olagunsoye Oyinlola (rtd), President of the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF), is among the players that will play in the Hounorable Golf Tournament at the MiCCom Golf and Country Club, Ada, Osun State this weekend.
Akeem Afolabi, Captain of the club, revealed that the event was planned to reactivate golfing activities which has slowed down in the club.
“We are aware that our club is a golf hub in this part of the country, but for some reasons it slowed down and we are working hard to bring activities back again.
“This event is an opportunity to host our fellow players from different parts of the country again and we are looking forward to doing so with pride; thanks to the support of our sponsor, International Breweries for making it happen.”
The Captain added, “Ladies, gentlemen and veterans would all be competing in the events and we believe with the condition of the course, the players would be put to a good test of the game of golf.”
Over 80 players from Ibadan Golf Course, Ilorin Golf Club, Benin Golf Club, Ibori Golf and Country Club among others have signed up for the event.
The amateur players will begin their title chase on Saturday July 8, 2017 and will be rounded off on Sunday July 9, with a presentation ceremony.
