''The residents of Alabe Street, Victoria Street
and Bariyu Street, 3 major areas of Isolo went to
bed on Monday 31 July as usual with no
inkling of what was pending. Unlike other
nights, this fateful day was going to leave a
memory that would linger for long. At about 2
am robbers arrived in their neighborhood. These
men with pump action riffles moved from house
to house stripping cars of every gadget they
could remove. From brain boxes to head lights
and other car parts, they carted away everything
they could lay their hands on.

The operation was professionally carried out as
most residents did not know what was
happening until the following day. A few resident
who woke up during the ordeal testified that the
criminals came in with fire arms and threatened
to shoot anyone who attempted to hinder them.

A middle-aged man said that he heard noises
around his car and thought it was his neighbor,
on coming out, he met two men with riffles and
they ordered him back to his flat and told him
to keep quiet if he wanted to live.
Other residents said they called the police
numbers they had when they noticed strange
movements, but as at 8 am this morning no
police man had showed up. Not even the aswani
police station, which is a stone throw from these
resident had sent any officer to the aid of the
residents during the raid. As a matter of fact, a
street called Victoria Street, just 5 minute walk
from aswani police station woke up to find their
street security man tied head and foot. The
robbers had tied him before descending on cars
on the street.

Further enquiriy revealed that other areas close
to these 3 streets had similar visitations recently
and perhaps this robbers are moving gradually
looting from area to area. If this trend is not
checked, residents in other areas may become
vulnerable.

The resident wish to appeal to the Lagos State
Police Commissioner, RRS and other security
arms of the state to investigate this matter and
come to the rescue of those living in Isolo.
