262 stranded Nigerians in Libya voluntarily
returned to the country through the
humanitarian services of the International
Organisation for Migration (IOM)
The returnees were received at the Hajj Camp,
Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja,
Lagos by the National Emergency Management
Agency (NEMA)
The Director General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapha
Maihajja who was represented by the Southwest
Zonal Coordinator of the Agency, Alh. Suleiman
Yakubu admonished the returnees to stay back
and utilise the available resources abound in the
country.
Other agencies that participated in the exercise
are NAPTIP,DSS, Nigeria Police, Immigration
Services, FAAN,, Nigerian AirForce and others.
On arrival, IOM gave the each returnees the sum
of 18,000 Naira and NEMA supported them with
the sum of 7,000 to ease their transportation to
their respective destination and settle down in
the community.
