PSG refuses La Liga blockage, pays Barcelona £222m to secure Neymar's transfer

Neymar is about to break Paul Pogba's world
record £100million Man U transfer move, as he
is soon to be the world’s best-paid and most
expensive footballer with a whopping £222m
transfer to PSG.

Representatives of Neymar and PSG arrived at
the La Liga offices in Madrid on Thursday,
planning to deposit the fee to activate the
release clause but La Liga officials blocked them
from depositing the money.

According to Guardian, La Liga refused the
payment because they had concerns over the
origin of the money, insisting only Spanish
clubs can have the guaranteed rights to buy out
a contract - despite accepting deposits from
foreign clubs in the past.
Since it has been reported that neither Barca
nor La Liga can block the deal and that the
Spanish organisation have no legal grounds to
reject the money, Neymar and PSG
representatives moved to Barcelona and paid
the club themselves
Barcelona announced today that they have
received a payment of 222 million euros from
Neymar's legal representatives "with regards to
the unilateral termination of the contract that
united both parties".

"On Thursday afternoon Neymar Jr's legal
representatives visited in person the club's
offices and made the payment of 222million
euros in the player's name with regards to the
unilateral termination of the contract that united
both parties. "As such, the club will pass on to
UEFA the details of the above operation so that
they can determine the disciplinary
responsibilities that may arise from this case."

According to reports, La Liga has no power to
block Neymar's move to PSG. Both Barca and
the league claim they will appeal to UEFA over
the transfer but it seems La Liga cannot scupper
the move. The best the league can do is hold up
the deal while lawyers scour over the
paperwork, looking for errors.

Neymar, 25, has scored more than 100 goals in
four years and has a deal that runs until 2021...
Let's see how this plays!

Luis Suarez opens up on Neymar’s departure to PSG

Luis Suarez has joined Lionel Messi in bidding Neymar farwell, as the Brazil international closes in on a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Although La Liga has refused to accept a payment of €222million that meets Neymar’s release clause, the 25-year-old is expected to complete the move.

Suarez, who formed the fearsome MSN front three alongside Neymar and Messi, has posted his own heartfelt farewell message on Instagram.

“My friend I wish you the best in everything that comes!!!” he wrote.

“Also thank you for your support, for everything that I learned with you and for the unique moments that we spent together!!!!

“Keep like this and never change love you little bro.”
