Badoo members strike in Ikorodu, butcher man, wife, two children

The notorious ritual cult group, Badoo, Sunday struck in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, killing a couple and two of their children.

The couple were identified as Mr. and Mrs. Adejare. The third kid was said to be in a coma at the Ikorodu General Hospital.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday in Oke Ota community, Ibeshe. The children were reportedly aged between five and one. Two of them were identified as Siyin and Ajoke, all females, Punch reports.

A resident of the area was quoted as saying that the incident became known around 12pm when church members of the deceased checked on them on the way from church.

He said, “They had a special programme in their church today (Sunday). The members decided to check on them because they did not come to the church. They found the whole family in a pool of blood and raised the alarm. One of the three children was still breathing. He was rushed to the general hospital.

“There are burglar-proof bars on the windows in the house, except in the kitchen. They came through the kitchen. They tore the net and entered the house.

“We seem to have relaxed in securing the community because the attack subsided for some time. Even the police patrol has reduced.”

“The apartment was given to them by the church. The couple were on the bed, while the children slept on mats. Four of them were killed. Their corpses have been deposited in the Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary,” he added.

Reacting to the incident, however, the Lagos State police spokesperson, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the killings might have no connection with the Badoo cult, adding that the location of the family’s residence was not accessible to vehicles.

He said, “The house is just a room and parlour with one open window and no visible form of security. A family of five were attacked. Three died on the spot, one died while receiving treatment at a hospital and the last member is alive and responding to treatment.

“No visible trace of violence or clues linked to the cult was found. No stone was found at the scene. A case of murder is being investigated by police detectives, which doesn’t fit in the modus operandi of the cult.”

"Give us N5000 or we would label you a badoo member"- Man narrates his near death experience with some Ikorodu youths

A resident of Ikorodu town identified as Habeeb
Habeeb, has alleged that some of the youths
guarding the town following recent Badoo attacks,
are now asking for N5000 from residents
returning to the town late otherwise they would
label the person a member of the dreaded cult
group, Badoo. Read his story as he shared
online;
"Gud day to all ikorodu ambassador..pls I
will like to share my thoughts on the
experience I had yesterday.I was unlucky
to be out till 11:30pm yesterday due to
some unforseen circumstances with the
truck bringing my product from apapa.we
were at eruwen junction at 11pm when the
burning of tires started by the residence
(majorly youths).very encouraging to see
our youths guiding the community.
EDURO EDURO ELELO EMU OWO FUNWA
( wait you can't go,give us money) I was
shocked to here this at all the tire burning
spot. The one spot that had me feared was
at the gberigbe junction the boys there are

BADOO( if you don't give us money we
will accuse you of working with BADOO)
before I knew they have all started
bagging the truck with all kind off things

them but none of them here me out as
they are responding with abusive words
insisting I must give them money.I had to
stretch one of the two 500 notesI have
with me to one of the leaders.he rejected
it telling me 5000 is our money this when
I realized 85% of them are miscreants the
same happened when they are leaving by
5am with cars going to work. after I
pleaded with driver n motor boy to pass
the night at my place...my thoughts is if
the OBA call the OBAs,baale,C.D.A
chairman,community elders to be involve
in the vigilante so we are not going to
place our lives on those that do not value
it.some of the boys do check n asked us
to go.but the others demand for money
and treating to accuse of been part if
