Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he wants to sign a wide player and a central midfielder before the season starts.
The Portuguese has stated that he wanted four players to be brought in this summer, but chief negotiator Ed Woodward has only managed to attain Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.
Chelsea's Nemanja Matic is viewed as Mourinho's preferred option in midfielder, while a deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic is still in negotiations. However, Mourinho believes it is more likely the club will only sign one or the other.

Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State today says he has been paying active workers and pensioners in the state regularly. He disclosed this today in Osogbo at a symposium organised by the Osun Command of the Police Community Relations Committee. He however said people spreading news of workers being owned by the state are just enemies of his administration. Hear him;
“Let me make a resounding correction that despite the paucity of funds, it is only a section of workers on grade level 12 and above who receive painfully 50 percent of their gross salaries based on the agreement between the government and the labour union.
“So, outside that category of workers on grade level 12 and above, no other receives half of his or her salaries and the workers in this category are just 20 percent of the state’s workforce.
“Outside that, officers on levels 8-10 receive 75 percent of their salaries while officers on levels 7 and below receive their full pay.
“Contrary to what the naysayers claim about us, all workers in the state have received their salaries up to June this year according to the payment scheme and agreement.
“As we pay active workers, so we pay pensioners.
“The only outstanding pay to pensioners is the gratuity and this is due to workers who choose not to participate in the Contributory Pension Scheme and therefore left service in 2011/2012,’’ the governor said.
The Nigerian Senate has pushed for the change of name from the Nigerians Police Force to simply the Nigerian Police. This is part of the recommendations in the 29 bills approved by the Senate in the ongoing Constitution amendment process.

The STD scandal hovering around Usher Raymond is growing as more women have come out to claim the 38-year-old singer infected them with Genital Herpes.
Recall the scandal erupted last week when court documents leaked to gossip tabloids revealed Usher paid a $1.1 million settlement to one of his ex-wife, Tameka Foster‘s bridesmaids, followed by another Atlanta woman who stepped forward accusing him of infecting her with genital herpes.
Now Blac Chyna‘s lawyer Lisa Bloom on Twitter has revealed that she has been contacted by “three more women” who accuse the R&B crooner of infecting them with STDs.
"How much unprotected sex did Usher have after his herpes diagnosis? Women are reaching out to me. How dare he endanger women's health?"
"Endangering women's health by having unprotected sex with herpes? Three women have now reached out to me about Usher. Stay tuned," she wrote on Twitter
The court documents indicate that Usher was diagnosed with Herpes Simplex 2 virus in 2009, an infection which currently has no cure.
The court documents describe Usher leaking a green discharge, which is more commonly associated with gonorrhea than herpes.
Donald Trump said on Wednesday he would not allow transgender individuals to serve in the US military in any capacity.
The US president tweeted:
“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow … transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.”
He added:
“Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming … victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”
Trump’s decision marks a sharp reversal of a policy initiated under Barack Obama, in which the Pentagon ended a longtime ban on transgender people from serving openly in the military.
His move to ban transgender people from the military comes after the Pentagon recently delayed a deadline set by the Obama administration of 1 July 2017 to decide whether incoming recruits who openly identified as transgender could enlist.
'Everlasting Consequences' For
Her Estranged Husband
Investigators in South Carolina have revealed that
a mother used a gun she stole from her parents
to shoot dead her two children, a woman she
believed to be her estranged husband's new
girlfriend and then herself as part of an elaborate
revenge plot.
Pickens County Chief Deputy Creed Hashe said
36-year-old Jessica Edens called her estranged
husband twice on July 13 - once around the time
she killed her son and daughter, and again before
committing suicide.
Hashe said the same .40-caliber handgun used
to kill 28-year-old Meredith Rahme in a parking
garage below downtown Greenville apartments
was used to kill 9-year-old Hayden King and 5-
year-old Harper Edens.
Hashe said in a news release Monday that text
messages show Jessica Edens making plans to
'create everlasting consequences' for her
estranged husband, Benjamin Edens, after a
Family Court hearing over the custody of their
daughter, which left her feeling 'distraught.'
The investigation has confirmed that Jessica
Edens drove her black Jeep SUV directly from the
parking garage in Greenville just moments after
Rahme was murdered near the Greenville-Pickens
Speedway, where it was later discovered by a
passing motorist.
Based on a phone call made by Mrs Edens to her
husband while he was in the presence of
Greenville authorities, along with other evidence,
it is believed siblings Hayden and Harper were
shot by their mother while seated in the rear
cargo area of the SUV. There were no signs of a
struggle.
Detectives believe the mother killed her children
before she made what would be her final phone
call to her husband, and then she turned the gun
on herself as she sat in the backseat of the Jeep
with their bodies.
Autopsies performed on the deceased the
following day determined that each person had a
single gunshot wound to the head.
A statement from Sheriff Rick Clark read, in part:
'As we struggle to understand how a parent could
possibly come to a decision such as this, we
have to focus on tomorrow and the opportunity to
provide services and solutions to those that feel
that their life and the lives of their loved ones
must end in order to find peace.'

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 14-year-old wife from Lifari Village in the Mashegu Local Government Area of the state for allegedly killing her 40-year-old husband, Isiaka Usman.
The suspect, Aisha Isah, and the late Usman, to whom she got married five months ago, were said to be cousins.
According to report, the teenage wife had been complaining of starvation and maltreatment since she started living with Usman, who already had two wives.
Isah told newsmen on Tuesday that her late husband failed to provide for her for two days, hence her action.
“And when I confronted him, he slapped me and out of anger, I hit him on the forehead with a pestle and he collapsed and died,” she explained.
Isah added, “My husband had the habit of not giving us money for food and each time we (the wives) confront him, he would tell us to go to our parents’ home and eat. He never cared about us; he beat us every time we demanded money for food.”
Asked if the other wife was at home at the time of the incident, she stated that the other wife went to the hospital with her baby.
“My mate was not around; it was only me and my late husband that were in the house at the time of the incident. I picked a pestle and hit him, he fell on the ground and I ran to my mother’s house at Kahigu Village in Mashegu council,” Isah said.
Isah said she inadvertently killed her husband out of anger and pleaded for forgiveness.
“I am sorry for what happened, it is the devil’s work and I pray my parents will forgive me; I never knew that he would die,I regretted all my actions,” she stated.
The police spokesman, Bala Elkana, explained that the victim died at Mashegu Hospital where he was taken for treatment.
He added that the suspect would nevertheless be prosecuted as a juvenile offender.
Femi Fani Kayode has never been known to mince his words, and those who choose to spar with him, have been known to weigh their options carefully.
The latest combatant in the verbal war with Fani-Kayode is the Imo State Governor, who lambasted the former Minister of Aviation in a statement released to the press yesterday.
Well Fani-Kayode must have been hard at work planning his own retort and he has packaged a bruising statement for Okorocha who he described in his statement as a frog, monkey and traitor of the Igbo people.

PRESS STATEMENT: RESPONSE TO GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA FROM CHIEF FEMI FANI-KAYODE
Rochas Okorocha’s jibe at Chief Femi Fani-Kayode following the wide doubts expressed by Nigerians at the authenticity of the photograph emanating from the APC governors’ purported visit to Muhammadu Buhari in London is a sign of desperation to serve the evil purposes for which the Imo State governor has been procured.
This is true to the character of Okorocha who is well known for his garrulousness which he ridiculously mistakes for oratory, with which, unfortunately, he has been misleading the good people of Imo State.
Okorocha is nothing but a dirty, cheap, fat, ugly frog that mistakes himself for a monkey simply because he can hop. A man who serves and defends a president and government that have murdered, insulted, marginalized and humiliated more of his own Igbo people than any other government in the history of Nigeria outside of the civil war.
For a man whose party has unprecedentedly threatened to arrest the moment he steps out from the immunity he currently enjoys, Rochas should actually be hiding his head in shame when men like Fani-Kayode are talking.
Uche Onyeagucha, an APC chieftain and a former member of the House of Representatives, has accused Okorocha of lying serially when he said he had spoilt Imo people with projects when in fact Rochas has only littered the state with a plethora of abandoned projects, most of which exist only on paper.
In lampooning the delinquent governor, Onyeagucha had said: “…Rochas should be in prison for the way and manner he has looted Imo State. He should rather be sewing his prison uniform.
“At the appropriate time, Imo people will beam to the world, the many grisly misdeeds of this cruel administration… He has deceived our people for too long, he has bamboozled them with lies, and we have tolerated it long enough.”
Need we say more?
A man who deceitfully created a phantom Imo Air that soon disappeared into thin air without any notice after it was commissioned with so much pomp and circumstance does not deserve any serious attention.
His deceit and cruelty has since been confirmed by Imo people, and his vicious credentials qualifies him for a regular mental check.
The truth of the matter is that Fani-Kayode and Rochas are not in the same class. Imo people thought otherwise but today they know better. Our joy for them is that 2019 is just around the corner. They will surely kick him out, and his emptiness would be exposed.
The truth that scares the likes of Okorocha is that Fani-Kayode is a confirmed Cambridge-trained lawyer whose great grandfather, Rev Emmanuel Adedapo Kayode, his grandfather, Victor Adedapo Kayode were UK-trained, and his father, Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode, was not just a prominent lawyer who finished from Cambridge University in 1941 and came top in the British Bar examination for the whole of British Commonwealth of nations, he was also the Deputy Premier of Western Nigeria, and the one who successfully moved for Nigeria’s independence in the Federal House of Assembly in 1958.
He was a Queens Counsel, the third Nigerian to be made a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and set up the first indigenous law firm with the erudite late Chief Frederick Rotimi Williams and Chief Bode Thomas.

The Presidency has explained why Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, is not part of the state governors that would be visiting President Buhari in the UK later today. Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity Shehu Garba, Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and Special Adviser to acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, had a joint press conference with state house correspondents in the villa in Abuja yesterday where they spoke on the visit. Adesina was asked why the Ekiti state governor who is very critical of President Buhari was not allowed to be part of the delegation to see President Buhari. Adesina in his reply said the presidency had no hand in the selection of the delegates to London.
“The selection was by the governors forum and you will see that the delegation is headed by governor Yari who is chairman of that forum. So that question should go to the forum” he said
The governors would be meeting with President Buhari by 3pm today.
