AEDC donates N500, 000 to support family blessed with quintuplets

ABUJA Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, in a show of rare Corporate Social Responsibility CRS has donated a Cheque of N500, 000 to the family of quintuplets delivered at the National Hospital, Abuja. Director Corporate Services, of AEDC Engr Abimbola Odubiyi who represented the Managing Director of the AEDC, Mr. Ernest Mupwaya made the presentation to Mr Imudia Uduehi, the father of the children at the weekend in Abuja. According to him, “the AEDC decided to join other concerned Nigerians to help out in catering for the children because the organisation believes in Social Corporate Responsibility as one of its core values.” He described the children as special gifts from God which deserve the supports of well meaning Nigerians. He also encouraged the parents of the children to bring up the children in the fear of the Lord and should not be discouraged because of the economic condition of the country now but should trust God to make provisions needed to train them. Speaking on behalf of the family, the father of the children, Mr Uduehi, appreciated the gesture of AEDC for donating such huge amount. He said that the money came as encouragement to the family. He also appreciated many other Nigerians who had been coming forward to assist in one way or the other in supporting the upkeep of the family since the blessing of the quadruplets came. It will be recalled that Head of Service (HoS) of the Federation, Winifred Oyo- Ita gave a three bedroom bungalow to the family after the delivery of the quintuplets. “I made the promise in faith but to the glory of God EFAB has helped us to fulfil our promise. “I hereby present the documents of a three-bedroom flat in Dakwa area of Dei Dei, Abuja, to the father of the children,’’ she said. Dr Ugo Udo, EFAB property manager said the gesture was not planned but was to support the head of service in fulfilling her promise. He added that it was a way of carrying out their own social responsibility and giving back to the community what the company has been benefiting. Also Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki had visited Mr. and Mrs. Imudia Uduehi, over the blessing of the quintuplets in Abuja. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. John Mayaki, said: “Governor Obaseki, on hearing the news, visited the family through a representative and supported them with N1 million.
