Ed Sheeran deletes Twitter account after fans attacked him for appearing on Game of Thrones

British pop singer, Ed Sheeran, has
deleted his Twitter account followed by
19 million people, hours after the first
episode of Season 7 aired in the UK on
Monday night.
The Ed Sheeran who have been
criticized for not putting up a good
performance in his brief appearance as a
soldier in the eagerly-awaited episode,
had to take down his account.
According to some viewers, his
performance left them disappointed.
It’s unclear what time his account was
taken down, but fans on Twitter noticed
its absence on Monday night. A cached
version of his account shows that he last
tweeted on Monday.
Sheeran has said before that negative
comments directed at him has turned
him off to the popular social media
platform.
“I go on it and there’s nothing but
people saying mean things,” Sheeran
said. “Twitter’s a platform for that.”
His appearance on Sunday’s season
premiere irritated some fans, many of
whom were not shy about sharing their
dismay on Twitter.
Sheeran is still active on Instagram,
where he shared a behind-the-scenes
selfie from the “Game of Thrones” set on
Monday.

Lady Gaga made an embarrassing social media blunder when sharing a sweet message with Ed Sheeran.

Taking to Instagram, the Poker Face singer aimed to support her friend after he quit Twitter following a 'stream' of negative comments.

Sharing a photo of herself and Ed posing with their thumbs up, the 31 year old penned some touching words.

She wrote: "What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED @edsheeran deserves all our love and respect like all humans do.

"I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean."

The blonde beauty concluded: "No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top.

"Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity."

Unsurprisingly, after seeing the kind message many of Gaga's fans were quick to send their own words of support.

"I love you Gaga for always being that caring for others," said one Instagrammer.

A second added: "Wow that's why I love you. You're amazing and everyone should hear what you have to say."

And somebody else exclaimed: "Perfect message!"

But amidst the messages of positivity, a few eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Gaga had awkwardly tagged an Ed Sheeran account instead of his personal page.

"How on earth did you tag the wrong account?" questioned one baffled fan.

While another corrected her: "This is his Instagram: @teddysphotos."

Seemingly aware of her awkward mistake, Lady Gaga has since changed the caption to include the correct handle for Ed's account.
